Computing Wages

Here's something useful for you if you want to start a business and hire employees. When computing the daily wages, these are the corresponding percentages you must bear in mind when paying your employees to work on certain days of the year, as well as times of the day:

1.) Night shift differential 10% per hour. Night shift under the Labor Code is 10PM to 6AM
2.) Overtime 25% per hour
3.) Regular Holiday: Daily Wage x 2
4.) Special Holiday: Daily Wage + 30%
5.) Rest Day: Daily Wage + 30%
6.) Holiday on a Rest Day: + 50%

The regular holidays are:

1.) New Year's Day: January 1
2.) Holy Thursday: Movable
3.) Good Friday: Movable
4.) Eidul Fitr: Movable
5.) Eidul Adha: Movable
6.) Araw ng Kagitingan: April 9
7.) Labor Day: May 1
8.) Independence Day: June 12
9.) National Heroes' Day: Last Sunday of August
10.) Bonifacio Day: November 30
11.) Christmas: December 25
12.) Rizal Day: December 30

The special holidays are:

1.) Ninoy Aquino Day: Monday nearest August 21
2. All Saints' Day: November 1
3.) Last Day of the year: December 31
